Voyager 1 captured this image of Jupiter in 1979 as it passed the gas giant. Jupiter, the largest planet in our solar system, is primarily composed of hydrogen and helium, with no solid surface. The Great Red Spot, a massive hurricane-like storm system, is clearly visible and has been observed for centuries.
