COSMIC MESSAGE
This image captures a rare event: a crescent sunrise. This happens when the Moon passes in front of the Sun during a partial solar eclipse. Viewers in eastern North America experienced this phenomenon. The Moon's shadow partially obscured the Sun, creating the crescent shape as the Sun rose.
