COSMIC MESSAGE
Astronomers have found independent evidence of a distant planetary system. A team led by G. W. Henry and G. Marcy discovered a planet's shadow crossing the star HD 209458, 150 light-years away. This transit confirmed earlier suspicions of a planet based on the star's wobble. The event provides direct proof of a planet orbiting a Sun-like star outside our solar system.
