NASA APOD · Philipp Rau
COSMIC MESSAGE

The final eclipse of the Second Millennium was a partial solar eclipse on Christmas Day 2000, visible across North America. Astrophotographer Phil Rau captured the entire event in a single image from Cary, North Carolina. Using a solar filter, he made short exposures every 10 minutes as the Sun and Moon arced across the sky.
