M94, a galaxy 15 million light-years away in Canes Venatici, looks different depending on the light we observe. In red light, its bright nucleus and spiral arms fade into a faint outer disk, highlighting older, cooler stars. But in ultraviolet light, from the Ultraviolet Imaging Telescope, its appearance changes dramatically, revealing different features.
