NGC 1512: A Panchromatic View

The barred spiral galaxy NGC 1512 is seen here in a multi-wavelength view from the Hubble Space Telescope. Each panel shows the galaxy in a different part of the electromagnetic spectrum, from ultraviolet to visible light. This composite allows astronomers to study different components of the galaxy, like hot young stars and dust lanes. NGC 1512 is located about 30 million light-years away in the constellation Horologium.
