Eagle EGGs in M16

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

In the Eagle Nebula, M16, dense regions of gas and dust called EGGs are forming new stars. These Evaporating Gaseous Globules collapse under gravity. Light from the hottest new stars heats the pillar, causing gas to evaporate and revealing more EGGs. This image was taken by the Wide Field and Planetary Camera 2 on the Hubble Space Telescope.
