COSMIC MESSAGE
The Trifid Nebula, M20, is a study in cosmic contrasts, located about 5,000 light-years away in Sagittarius. This star-forming region shows three types of nebulae: red emission nebulae from hydrogen, blue reflection nebulae where dust reflects starlight, and dark nebulae from dense dust clouds. The red emission region is particularly prominent.
