Neptune, the Solar System's outermost gas giant, has a nearly uniform blue hue. The Voyager 2 spacecraft in 1989 revealed dark spots on its surface. These spots are anti-cyclones, large high-pressure systems swirling in Neptune's cold cloud tops.
