COSMIC MESSAGE
Galileo didn't invent the telescope, but he improved it and pointed it at the sky. He saw craters on the Moon, moons around Jupiter, spots on the Sun, and phases of Venus. These observations, made by Galileo between 1609 and his death in 1642, supported the idea that the Earth was not the center of the universe.
