NGC 7293: The Helix Nebula

COSMIC MESSAGE
A sun-like star is dying, about seven hundred light years away in Aquarius. Over a thousand years, it created the Helix Nebula, NGC 7293, a planetary nebula. Its expanding shell of gas glows in hydrogen's red and oxygen's blue-green. Ninety hours of exposure time went into creating this view.
