This deep Hubble Space Telescope image shows a narrow slice of the cosmos toward Hercules, filled with distant galaxies. The distorted reddish galaxy in the yellow box is 9 billion light-years away. It's an Extremely Red Object, seen when the Universe was only a third of its current age.
