COSMIC MESSAGE

NGC 2392, discovered by William Herschel in 1787, is a planetary nebula. From Earth, it looks like a person's head in a parka. The Hubble Space Telescope's view reveals complex gas clouds that are still not fully understood. These glowing shells were once the outer layers of a star much like our Sun, ejected about 10,000 years ago by strong winds from the dying star's core.
