Venus and Jupiter Over Belfast

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

Venus and Jupiter appeared to glide past each other in early June, an angular illusion from our perspective on Earth. Jupiter, much further away, was sinking towards the sunset horizon while Venus remained high and bright. This image, taken on June 3, shows Venus shining brightly above Jupiter, set against clouds and mountains. This event marked the end of a period where five planets were visible in the night sky.
