COSMIC MESSAGE

The Andromeda Galaxy, also known as M31, is 2.5 million light-years away and is the most distant object visible to the unaided eye. This single-shot image captures Andromeda above a chimney in southern Portugal. While most visible celestial objects are within our own Milky Way, Andromeda is an external galaxy, a cosmic neighbor.
