COSMIC MESSAGE
Galaxy NGC 720 is surrounded by a cloud of X-ray emitting gas, seen here in a false-color image from the Chandra X-ray Observatory. This gas is extremely hot, around 7 million degrees Celsius. Its presence suggests that the galaxy's visible stars alone cannot contain it, providing evidence for dark matter.
