Cold Wind from the Boomerang Nebula
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
A cold wind blows from the central star of the Boomerang Nebula. The Hubble Space Telescope captured this detailed image in 1998. The nebula is about 5,000 light-years away in the constellation Centaurus. This symmetric cloud was created by a high-speed wind of gas and dust, moving at nearly 600,000 kilometers per hour, from an aging central star.
