COSMIC MESSAGE
In the Orion Molecular Cloud complex, two prominent reflection nebulae, M78 and NGC 2071, are particularly apparent. These are dust clouds lit by the reflecting light of bright stars embedded within them. M78, on the upper right, was cataloged over 200 years ago. Astronomers study these nebulae to understand how stars form. The Orion complex is about 1500 light years away.
