Comet Neat Passes an Erupting Sun
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
Last week, Comet NEAT passed inside Mercury's orbit, growing a long tail of gas and dust. At the same time, the Sun released a huge coronal mass ejection. The SOHO satellite, which constantly watches the Sun, captured this event. Neither the comet nor the Sun seemed to be affected by the other.
