COSMIC MESSAGE

NGC 1705 is a small galaxy, about 2,000 light-years across, similar to the Milky Way's satellite galaxies, the Magellanic Clouds. At 17 million light-years away, its stars are still easily resolved in this Hubble Space Telescope image. Younger, hot, blue stars are concentrated in a central cluster, while older, cooler, red stars are more evenly distributed.
