COSMIC MESSAGE

While trying to photograph Perseid meteors, an astronomer captured this ten-minute exposure of the night sky. Most of the stars are in our own Milky Way galaxy, too faint to see with the naked eye. One Perseid meteor streaks from the lower left to the upper right. This image shows both the vastness of our galaxy and the fleeting beauty of a meteor shower.
