COSMIC MESSAGE

The Trifid Nebula, M20, in Sagittarius is a cloud of gas and dust about 5,000 light-years away. It illustrates three types of nebulae: red emission, blue reflection, and dark absorption. This star-forming region glows with light from hydrogen atoms, dust reflecting starlight, and dense dust clouds appearing in silhouette.
