A Late Leonid from a Sparse Shower

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

The 2003 Leonid Meteor Shower was sparse, with Earth passing through only thin streams of particles from Comet Tempel-Tuttle. This image, captured by a CONCAM night sky camera, shows one of the brighter meteors from that year. Despite the low rates, a few bright Leonids still streaked across the sky.
