Leonids Over Indian Cove
NASA APOD · Wally Pacholka (Astropics)
COSMIC MESSAGE
One year ago, an impressive meteor shower graced Earth's skies. This picture from last year shows at least six bright meteors in just part of the sky above Indian Cove campground in California, USA, during a four-minute exposure. The 2002 Leonids delivered a double punch as Earth passed through two dense clouds of meteoroids, dusty debris left by Comet Tempel-Tuttle.
