M13, the Great Globular Cluster in Hercules, is one of the most prominent and well-known globular clusters. It is home to over 100,000 stars, spans 150 light-years across, and is over 12 billion years old. Located 20,000 light-years away, it's visible with binoculars. In 1974, a radio message about Earth was sent from the Arecibo Observatory towards M13.
