The Sombrero Galaxy, one of the biggest in the Virgo Cluster, has a dark band of dust that usually blocks our view. But in infrared light, that dust glows brightly. This image from the Spitzer Space Telescope, combined with a Hubble optical image, lets us see through the dust.
