The Swirling Storms of Saturn

Saturn's upper atmosphere is constantly dotted with storms larger than hurricanes. The Cassini spacecraft captured this view in July, isolating a specific color of polarized infrared light to reveal the details. The numerous white and dark spots are swirling storm systems, some of which can last for months. These storms are a dynamic feature of Saturn's atmosphere, driven by its rapid rotation and internal heat.
