COSMIC MESSAGE
Fifty light-years from Earth, in the constellation Pegasus, is the star 51 Pegasi. In 1995, astronomers at the Observatoire de Haute-Provence discovered the first exoplanet orbiting a sun-like star there. This discovery, made using a precise spectrograph, opened up a new era in our understanding of planetary systems beyond our own.
