COSMIC MESSAGE
Last Thursday, spectacular northern lights shone over Iowa, a location not often graced with auroral displays. This wide-ranging aurora was triggered by a large solar flare that collided with Earth's magnetosphere. A photographer captured this image, showing the colorful glow across the sky. These auroras are caused by energetic particles from the Sun interacting with our planet's atmosphere.
