NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
Pismis 24-1, in the open cluster Pismis 24, was once thought to be a single star over 200 times the mass of our Sun. Hubble Space Telescope images, however, showed it to be three stars. These massive stars illuminate the gas front in the star-forming region NGC 6357. The cluster is 8,000 light-years away in Scorpius.
