A Daylight Eclipse of Venus

NASA APOD · Peter Heinzen
COSMIC MESSAGE

Just two days ago, the Moon passed in front of Venus, an event called an occultation, visible during daylight. This image, taken from Switzerland before sunset, shows the crescent Moon about to eclipse Venus. Moments after this photo, the Moon covered Venus completely.
