This sequence captures a total lunar eclipse from the South Pole, where the Moon circled about 10 degrees above the horizon for 14 days. The photographer faced extreme cold, at -68 degrees Celsius, and atmospheric blurring. Despite the challenges, the four-hour event was recorded.
