COSMIC MESSAGE

New stars are forming in a dense molecular cloud in the constellation Serpens Cauda, about 1,000 light-years away. This near-infrared image, taken with specialized detectors, reveals the active star-forming region. It spans just over half a light-year, a cosmic nursery hidden from visible light.
