COSMIC MESSAGE
This skyscape is at the eastern edge of the giant stellar nursery W5, about 7,000 light-years away in Cassiopeia. It is an infrared view from the Spitzer Space Telescope, showing interstellar clouds of cold gas and dust. These clouds are sculpted by winds and radiation from a hot, massive star outside the picture. Newborn stars are forming within the cosmic clouds, their formation triggered by the massive star.
