Here is Orion, but not as we usually see it. The belt stars are at the upper left, still easily recognizable. Below them, a dramatic view of the Flame Nebula and the dark Horsehead Nebula, carved from cold dust. This deep image of the southern part of the constellation captures an unusually wide field of view.
