COSMIC MESSAGE
M86 is a lenticular galaxy at the heart of the Virgo Galaxy Cluster, the closest large cluster of galaxies to us. This cosmic view shows M86 along with many of its neighbors, including M84, the edge-on spiral NGC 4388, and the interacting pair known as Markarian's Eyes. With over a thousand members, the Virgo Cluster is a vast collection of galaxies, all slowly moving through space.
