COSMIC MESSAGE
In January 2007, skywatchers in Perth, Australia, saw Comet McNaught through the clouds. Fireworks for Australia Day celebrations lit up the nearby sky. Lightning from a distant thunderstorm flashed on the far right. The comet was bright enough to be visible even with these other light sources.
