In 1006 AD, a new star, the brightest supernova in recorded human history, lit up Earth's sky. The expanding debris cloud, SN 1006, is still putting on a light show in the constellation Lupus. This composite view combines X-ray data from the Chandra Observatory in blue, optical data in yellowish hues, and radio data in red.
