Cassini Passes Through Ice Plumes of Enceladus

The Cassini spacecraft dove within 30 kilometers of Saturn's moon Enceladus to analyze the ice plumes it emits. Cassini sniffed and collected chemical data from particles ejected from the moon's surface. It also flew directly through the ice geysers to sample them. Scientists are looking for impurities in these water-ice plumes to understand their origin.
