A Lenticular Cloud Over New Zealand
NASA APOD · Chris Picking
COSMIC MESSAGE
Several clouds stack up over mountains in New Zealand to form a striking lenticular cloud. These clouds form when wind moves over a mountain, creating vertical oscillations in the air. Where the air saturates with moisture at different layers, these distinctive, lens-shaped clouds appear.
