COSMIC MESSAGE
The Eagle Nebula, also known as M16, is a star-forming region with dramatic pillars of dust and gas. These pillars are sculpted by the energetic light from massive young stars, which causes the gas to glow in multiple colors. The light also boils away parts of the dust and gas, revealing the denser towers where stars are still forming.
