A Galilean Night

NASA APOD · Jens Hackmann
COSMIC MESSAGE

On a summer evening in Germany, a photographer captured this view of Jupiter and the Full Moon near a church steeple. Four hundred years ago, Galileo pointed his new telescope at these same objects. He discovered craters on the Moon and Jupiter's four largest moons.
