COSMIC MESSAGE
The constellation Orion is rich with interstellar dust clouds and glowing nebulae. M78, a bluish reflection nebula about 1,500 light-years away, is centered in this wide-field view north of Orion's belt. Its blue tint comes from dust reflecting the light of hot, young stars. The reflection nebula NGC 2071 is to the left of M78.
