NGC 4565, also known as the Needle Galaxy, is a spiral galaxy viewed edge-on from Earth. It is located in the constellation Coma Berenices. This image reveals its bulging central core, cut by dust lanes that trace its thin galactic plane. Other galaxies, including NGC 4562, are also visible in the field of view.
