Zodiacal Light Vs. Milky Way

Ghostly Zodiacal light, caused by sunlight scattering off dust in the solar system's plane, is visible near the center of this panorama. It appears as a narrow triangle extending above the western horizon. During the weeks around the March equinox, Zodiacal light is more prominent after sunset in the northern hemisphere, when the ecliptic makes a steep angle with the horizon.
