COSMIC MESSAGE

Centaurus A, also known as NGC 5128, is the closest active galaxy to us, only 11 million light-years away. This peculiar elliptical galaxy spans over 60,000 light-years. It is believed to be the result of a collision between two normal galaxies, leaving a jumble of star clusters and dark dust lanes. A central black hole, a billion times the mass of our Sun, steadily consumes cosmic debris.
