NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
The Tarantula Nebula, also known as 30 Doradus, is the largest and most active star-forming region in our Local Group of galaxies. Located in the Large Magellanic Cloud, its red and pink gas indicates an emission nebula, with a bright cluster of stars called R136 at its core. If it were as close as the Orion Nebula, it would span half our sky.
