COSMIC MESSAGE

Volcanoes of the Islands of the Four Mountains in Alaska, USA, are seen from above in this image from the ASTER camera aboard NASA's Terra satellite. These are breaks in Earth's cool surface where hot liquid rock from the interior emerges. The islands contain restless Mount Cleveland, an active volcano currently being watched for ash cloud emissions.
