Stars and Dust across Corona Australis
NASA APOD · Alessandro Cipolat Bares
COSMIC MESSAGE
Cosmic dust clouds and a rich field of stars fill this telescopic view near the northern boundary of Corona Australis, the Southern Crown. This star-forming region is part of a sprawling molecular cloud complex, only 500 light-years away. That's about one-third the distance to the more famous Orion Nebula. The dust clouds, mixed with bright nebulosities, block light from more distant stars.
