Station and Shuttle Transit the Sun
NASA APOD · Thierry Legault
COSMIC MESSAGE
That's no sunspot. The International Space Station and Space Shuttle Atlantis are crossing the face of the Sun. Astrophotographer Thierry Lagault captured this rare transit, with the ISS and Atlantis appearing as dark patches against the bright solar disk. They were orbiting about 350 kilometers above Earth's surface.
